ONE x ONE | VISION 2027:  Every year at Portrait, we unite around a word from God. This year’s marching orders came from Joshua chapter 12.

Joshua and the Israelites possessed the Promised Land, defeating 31 kings in total, but accomplishing God’s vision didn’t happen overnight. It happened one city, one battle, one act of obedience at a time … One x One.

Looking back, it feels like one incredible conquest. Living through it, it looked like incremental progress.

We believe that’s how God builds His church. One life changed, one person baptized, one family restored, one victory after another … One x One.

As Portrait continues to take ground for His Kingdom, the vision before us is big: to help North Texas Look Again at Jesus, win the next generation, take steps toward our future home, and advance the gospel through church planting nationally and internationally.

As we look at the horizon, we refuse to be overwhelmed by the size of the vision. Together, we take our next faith step on Sunday, December 6, through our annual Prepare the Way Offering—an offering that goes above and beyond our regular giving.

God gives the vision. We give our YES.

One person at a time. One opporunity at a time. One act of generosity at a time.

step by step …
brick by brick …

ONE X ONE

A Timeline of God's Faithfulness

2024 — Establish

God promised to establish what we were building and He did: providing space, finances, and raising up 150 servant leaders to launch Portrait.

2025 — United

God told us unity commands His blessing and flows top-down … as we united around inviting people to Look Again, He poured it out: 49 people wer baptized.

2026 — Prepare

God promised open doors — and gave us 10 acres on the border of Celina and Gunter.

2027 — One x One

As we enter this next chapter, we believe His goodness will crown our year —one person, one step, one act of obedience at a time.

The Stories God’s Writing

If you’re still breathing, then God’s still writing. There’s a story behind every portrait. What’s yours?

(hover to discover)

In a season of seeking God, we felt the Holy Spirit leading our family to become more rooted in our local community, and Portrait became that place for us. Through worship, serving, and practical teaching, we’ve experienced genuine connection, authentic relationships, and a real presence of God at Portrait. What we love most is seeing how comfortable our daughter is in kids ministry each week and watching her begin to grow her own relationship with God.

— The Woods Family

I always believed in a higher power, but didn’t know it was Jesus … Senior year of high school, I got into drugs. College got worse. My family relationships were wrecked, I had no real friends … just lost. When I came to Portrait, what I felt was light, acceptance, love, hope — and no shame. And I chose to get baptized to declare my faith in Jesus!

— Niko

Portrait has brought us renewed faith; it has given us community and friendship. The opportunity to share our lives with our House group and others serving at the church as God intended. We have felt uplifted and recharged for the first time in many years we feel closer to God and can feel him working in our lives and can see him working in the lives of others in the Portrait family.

missional

The first 20% of the Prepare the Way Offering goes beyond our walls. As a church, we always give the first 10% away. So, why the extra? Because as our people give above and beyond, we will also give sacrificially.

  • Christ Life Zambia – supporting Pastor Mulenga Chella
  • Local outreach in Celina

We are committed to four foundational callings of the church: Seeking the lost, reaching the next generation, healing the hurting, and feeding the faithful. (Zechariah 11:16-17)

Future

God has positioned us at the epicenter of growth, and it’s time to prepare for the future home of Portrait Church.

The Church I See...

In 2027, I’m expectant that God’s goodness will crown our year.

There is an unmistakable sense of momentum. God’s hand of favor is visible all around. The ten acres God provided remind us that when God speaks a word, it’s as good as done. What’s next? God gave us this land not to squat on, but to steward … I can’t wait to see what He does with it.

Though we have our sights on a permanent home, the building is not our identity, nor is it our mission. It’s simply a tool for more people to Look Again. Every conversation about the property ends the same way: God is building His church; the land is a gift; Jesus remains our treasure; and changed lives are the miracle.

The whisper in the lobby continues: “It’s crowded here.” Though it stretches us, we’re starting a third service because the mission is greater than our comfort.

Beyond Sunday, people are sharing meals, opening God’s Word together, praying for one another, walking through every season of life together, sharing their faith with friends and coworkers… One by One, disciples are making disciples.

That’s the story I believe God is inviting you and me to be a part of.

Following His Lead,

Pastor David
